Veterinary Receptionist

Role Overview:

We are looking for a role model with a passion for customer service who is confident and dynamic.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills to promote our high practice standards and maintain an organised, efficient, professional reception area. They should also demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment, prioritising workload while maintaining a warm, friendly, and relaxed environment.

We are looking for:

  • Reception and administration experience, ideally in the veterinary sector
  • Animal lover
  • Demonstrate a positive approach to teamwork
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel etc)
  • Organised, reliable with good time-keeping
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • SQP qualification desirable but not essential

Your role will include:

  • Ensure that the telephones are answered promptly and assist with effective diary management
  • Maintaining client and patient files, maintaining GDPR compliances
  • Ensuring the reception area is well-maintained, clean and fully stocked
  • Assisting the Head Receptionist with insurance administration
  • Assisting with marketing of the practice, and the management of our social media and website accounts
  • Promoting the practice health plan and other seasonal clinical schemes
  • Dealing with client queries and complaints as the first port of call and escalating those that need senior management involvement.

The role is 20-40 hours per week and will be on a rota basis, with some 8 a.m. starts and some 6.30 p.m. finishes. We are open to discussions regarding flexible working. Shift patterns will include 1 in 4 Saturday mornings and 9 until 12.30.
