Alex Carey RVN

About Alex

Tell us a bit about you:

I started my career at Knutsford Veterinary Surgery as a Veterinary Care Assistant back when we first opened our doors in 2014. Since then, I have qualified as a registered veterinary nurse (RVN).

What are your Qualifications and Interests?

I am a registered Veterinary nurse (RVN) and have achieved a certificate of Veterinary Nursing in Emergency and Critical Care (CertVNECC). As well as Emergency and Critical Care, I also have a particular interest in anaesthesia and theatre practice.
As an RVN, my role is very varied. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of my day-to-day responsibilities; however, my favourite part is getting to know the clients and their pets to provide the best care possible. I particularly enjoy caring for inpatients and find nothing more rewarding than seeing them discharged home to their families.

What  pets do you have?

I have a pony named Frank and a Chinese Crested dog named Stanley, who both like to keep me very busy.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love being outdoors and enjoy visiting new places. I enjoy going on holidays (anywhere sunny!) and have recently started to explore new destinations, with Mexico being one of my favourites so far.

What is your favourite wild animal?

I have a fascination with sharks, particularly Great Whites.
