Megan Whitby RVN

About Megan

Tell us a bit about you

I qualified as an RVN in January 2021, but started my veterinary career when I was 18 years old, when I worked at Winsford Veterinary Surgery as a VCA. I started here at Knutsford Vets in August 2023 and like the variety of cases that we see here and that no 2 days feel the same plus I enjoy seeing lots of new faces!

What are you qualifications and interests?

I’ve helped gain our status for the Dog Friendly Clinic as part of the Dogs Trust and British Veterinary Behaviour Association, and looking to continuously improve on ways we can maintain our clinic to be dog friendly to our canine patients. I’m currently working towards my Veterinary Nurse Consulting Certificate CertNCS(RVN Cons) (which I’m hoping to have finished soon!), and I’ve just started the BSAVA Vet Nurse Merit Award in Behaviour.

What pets do you have?

I have a Labrador named Ivy. She’s very cheeky, so you may see her embarrassing us during our walks around Tatton!

What’s your dream Holiday/travel location?

There are a few places I would love to visit, but Canada, Hawaii, New York and Florida are the main ones. We’ve already ticked New York and Florida off our list so far!

What’s your favourite wild animal?

My favourite wild animal would have to be either a seal or an otter!

What other interests do you have outside of work?

Baking, currently I am trying to improve my cake-decorating skills. Taking my dog on new walks, going to concerts and raising money for charity.

What is your favourite thing about Knutsford?

I enjoy walking around Tatton Park!

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I enjoy travelling, going on walks, spending time with friends and family and have quite a keen interest in baking!

Favourite Movie?

I have many different films I enjoy watching but one that sticks out to me is Drop Dead Fred.
