Veterinary blood tests from Knutsford vets

When your pet becomes unwell sometimes samples of blood need to be taken to assist your vet in making a diagnosis. This is a simple procedure that takes only a few minutes and most pets tolerate it very well.

We understand that waiting for blood test results can be a worrying time and we want to be able to come to a diagnosis rapidly for your pet and you. Fortunately here at Knutsford Veterinary Surgery we can run extensive blood testing in-house, including thyroid and pancreatitis testing which are often sent to external labs. This enables us to target treatment quickly and helps to get your pet back on the road to recovery.

In-house urine testing

Most urine samples can also be tested in house, we often require urine samples to complete the information required to make a diagnosis. For those tests that cannot be performed on site a specialist courier collects samples at the end of each day, allowing the vets to analyse your pets test results without delay.

Home Visits Testing

Although our blood and urine facilities are based in our surgery, we can collect samples for testing at your home. This is extremely useful if your dog is a nervous pet or you don’t have access to transport. We’ll run the tests as soon as we return back to the surgery and notify you of your results when we’re able to. Find out more about home testing on our home visits page or contact us today for more information.
